“Manatsu no Sounds good!” is the 26th major single (28th overall) released by AKB48. It was released in five versions: two regular CD+DVD editions (types A, and B), two limited CD+DVD editions (types A, and B), and a limited CD-only theater edition. The regular editions came with a national handshake event ticket and came with one of thirty-six photos, and the theater edition came with a large handshake event ticket and random photo.

According to Oricon, the single sold 1,170,554 copies on its first day of release, beating their previous record of highest first-day sales with “Kaze wa Fuiteiru”.
